I am pleased and grateful to report that Stowe (and Ten Acres Lodge) were largely unaffected by the recent hurricane. We feel very fortunate considering some of the video we have seen on the news. For those of you who have planned a trip or are thinking of coming to Stowe, the good news is the roads and bridges are fine, the leaves and trees are fine and we are ready for the upcoming foliage season.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been hurt by this storm and a special prayer for those small business owners/innkeepers like ourselves who are dealing with the aftermath of Irene.

Due to the overwhelming positive response we have recieved on our restaurant Lagniappe at Ten Acres Lodge, we have decided to open on Sundays for the summer. We are very proud of the acclaim we’ve recieved on tripadvisor and opentable and thought we should increase our open hours. We are now open Wed. – Sun. 5:30-8:30. We still need a little rest ( or so my restaurant employees tell me…) so we are closed on Mon and Tues. Of course, I’m still working as Ten Acres Lodge is a 7 day a week operation. If you like Cajun/Creole food and are in the Stowe area, please check us out. If you’ve never had this cuisine before, you owe it to yourself to try some. It’s not over the top hot and spicy but full of flavor and vibrant. Check our reviews on tripadvisor and see for yourself.
Hope to see you soon at Lagniappe!

I took a call the other day from a nice woman who has recently lost her job. A sad situation, yes, but she was determined to see her family get a short vacation. They had to cancel a rather elaborate planned holiday and heard about us at Ten Acres Lodge from a friend. After hearing what Stowe VT had to offer and what we had to offer, she was excited to book 4 days with us. She’s saving on travel costs (no air fare), free breakfast with us, discounts in dinner with us and more. We know how challenging the environment is out there for many people but before you write off this years vacation, look at the options we and other places provide to offer reasonably priced holidays. You can see some of our great deals here
Another new development is you can now book rooms or dinner reservations via our Facebook page. Both Ten Acres and Lagniappe have their own Facebook page where you can post reviews and now make bookings. Check it out!
Hope to see you this summer!

We’re delighted to report that the cows have returned to the pasture across the street from Ten Acres Lodge. It’s an annual May ritual we look forward to and our guests love being able to look out and see a dozen or so cows grazing in the field. For a live look, check out our webcam….you just may catch a glimpse of them.
Our “unplugged package” is still available for this weekend and the next several weekends. It offers lodging for two nights, full breakfast each morning and a two course dinner for 2 at our restuarant Lagniappe…all for only $199! It’s a great deal and we hope you check it out.
Hope to see you soon.

Even though the leaves have yet to fully come out here, thoughts of warm days and cool nights of summer are front and center. I love summer in this ski town…they have done a wonderful job of creating plenty of activities for people of varied interests. Car shows (Antique Car Show, British Invasion), Garden Festivals, Music Festivals (Mozart, Concert of the Americas), fireworks, arts and crafts and so much more. I’m surprised more people don’t come up for July 4th. The town and its festivities remind me of how Independence Day must have been 50 years ago. If you’re planning a summer getaway and want great weather, small town charm and fabulous lodging/dining options, consider Stowe VT. Oh, BTW…consider staying and/or eating at Ten Acres Lodge!
Hope to see you this summer!
